Usually the single-mode ITU-T G652D fiber which can be used at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelength,and has lowattenuation less than 0.22dB/Km is widely used for making the cable for supporting the long-distance networks.In order to meet the development of MAN network, access network and premise local area network(LAN) requirements the ITU-T G652D, G655A/B/C and G657A/B single-mode fibers are also popularly required now.
Multil-mode fiber normally used at 850nm and 1300nm wavelength has high attenuation and small dispersion. It has been mostly applied to the short-distance fiber optic transmission networks because of its limited transmission bandwidth, Multi-mode fiber however has excellent connection coupling efficiency due to its large NA (Numerical Aperture) parameter, 50/125um and 62.5/125um multil-mode fibers are currently widely deployed in LAN system.Meanwhile more and more specialized optical fibers are requested and used for military, transportation control system, new energy and power supply industry.
