Application
FTTH (Fiber to the Home) / FTTX network deployment, dedicated to securing and anchoring drop cables (fiber pigtail cables, 2×3mm butterfly cables) during outdoor and indoor wiring, the FTTH Drop Cable Metal Clamp provides reliable strain relief and cable fixation.
Installation Steps
Step 1 – Prepare the Clamp & Cable
Open the two halves of the tension clamp, and prepare the drop cable (butterfly cable) for assembly.
Step 2 – Insert the Drop Cable
Place the drop cable into the channel of the lower half of the clamp, aligning the cable properly.
Step 3 – Close & Secure the Clamp Body
Snap the upper half of the clamp over the cable, ensuring the cable is fully seated inside the clamp. Press firmly to lock the two halves together.
Step 4 – Form the Cable Tail Loop & Check the Assembly
Bend the excess cable tail to form a loop (or secure it using the built-in anchoring feature of the clamp) to distribute tension evenly. Then verify the complete assembly: confirm the cable is held securely without squeezing the fiber core, and that the tension loop is properly formed.
Step 5 – Mount to the Pole/Bracket
Attach the assembled clamp to the pole or wall bracket using the suspension wire/strap. Adjust and secure the cable run to maintain proper tension, preventing sagging or excessive pulling on the fiber.
