GJYXCH is a Self-supporting drop cable used for connecting between the main network and the end user. It is widely used in FTTH. This cable have simple structure. it is self-supported by diameter 1.0mm steel wire. Two steel wire are placed in parallel making the drop cable have more tension. The fiber in the center is G.657.A1 helping the drop cable has good bending performance. Outer Jacket LSZH wrap the FRP G657 fibers and messenger wire in a flat, bow-shaped shape.

■ GJYXCH FTTH Drop Cable Production Process

- Color the bare G657A1 fibers using a coloring machine with distinct identification colors:
- 1 core: Blue
- 2 cores: Blue, Orange
- 4 cores: Blue, Orange, Green, Brown
- Straighten, clean, and dry the galvanized steel wires to ensure no bending or eccentricity during the subsequent molding process.
- Feed the colored fibers, two 0.4mm steel wires, and one 1.0mm steel wire into the cabling machine, arranging them in a butterfly-shaped cross-section. Then extrude an LSZH outer sheath via a sheath extruder to form the butterfly drop cable.
- Finally, wind the finished cable onto plastic drums (integrated plastic reels) in specified lengths of 1000m/drum or 2000m/drum. The finished cabled drums are then transferred to the quality inspection station for testing.
■ GJYXCH FTTH Drop Cable Quality Inspection Process
- Attenuation test of bare G657A1 optical fiber
- Colored coating adhesion test by repeated wiping with alcohol after fiber coloring
- Density and aging resistance tests of LSZH sheath compounds
- Attenuation test, tensile test, crush test, bending test, torsion test and temperature cycling test on finished drop cables
- Final flame retardant and low smoke emission tests

■ Project Cases
Rural Village FTTH Aerial Deployment Project
This project covers a total of 120 households, with span distances ranging from 30 to 80 meters and a total cable length of approximately 18 km.GJYXCH-2B6a (G657A1 optical fiber, LSZH sheath, 1.0 mm messenger wire + 2×0.4 mm strength members) is adopted. The cable is installed directly on poles using hoops and cable hooks without additional steel strands. The bending radius of the fixed cable shall be no less than 15 mm.SC mechanical splices are used for subscriber termination, with insertion loss ≤ 0.3 dB.For single-subscriber acceptance, the attenuation measured by optical power meter is ≤ 0.4 dB/km (including splices). For whole-section acceptance, no reflection peaks and no breakpoints are allowed in OTDR testing.
■ FAQ
1. Is the package of GJYXCH FTTH Drop Cable an integrated plastic reel, or a plastic reel with a paper core?
If a paper core is used as the reel hub, it tends to absorb moisture in areas with heavy annual rainfall, and the reel may easily break during cable pulling in construction.
We use one-piece integrated plastic reels, including a full plastic core.
2. Will eccentricity of strength members cause uneven stress and fiber breakage?
Online concentricity monitoring is performed during sheath extrusion to strictly control the position of the two 0.4 mm FRP / steel strength members.100% inspection is carried out before delivery.
3. Is the signal stable under high and low temperature environments?
G657A1 bending-insensitive optical fiber features excellent environmental stability.
For final products, a full 1 km reel of GJYXCH FTTH Drop Cable is selected and tested in a temperature cycling chamber under -40℃ ~ +70℃ temperature cycling conditions.
4. Will the cable tangle or twist on the reel, causing difficulties in payout?
SoctFiber’s automated butterfly drop cable production line performs automatic traversing winding onto integrated plastic reels, with dedicated staff monitoring the winding process. All GJYXCH Cables are inspected at our quality control center; products with messy winding are rejected as non-conforming.
5. Slow lead time and high MOQ for small-quantity orders?
Regular models (1/2/4 core GJYXCH) are available from stock, supporting small MOQ with fast delivery.
Soctfiber is equipped with 14 FTTH drop cable production lines, with a daily capacity of up to 1500 km.Custom lengths (1000m / 2000m / 3000m) are supported.
